Design and development

Ellegaard has developed a groundbreaking new PM motor and steering to achieve savings and a more effective material flow. The technology behind the new PM motor, and the advanced electronic steering, make full use of the motor’s capacity. The efficiency achieved is the best on the market, and the energy consumption exceeds the new European standards for energy consumption. The rotor’s exact placement is continuously measured, and the current is adjusted according to rotation speed and load. This is not possible on a standard motor, where the current is the same, regardless of the rotor’s position.

We have for more than 40 years kept internal transport systems going smoothly all over Denmark. During more than fifteen of these years, we have moreover produced, developed, and repaired drum motors locally for Danish businesses.

With the intent of improving the service level, and ensure faster delivery times for customers, we began our own production in Viborg in 2005 – and already in 2009, the production capacity increased sharply in connection with us setting up on new and larger premises. This means that we can offer extremely short delivery times on standard drum motors, as well as completely individual solutions. If it is urgent, we can deliver a new drum motor within a matter of hours.

Technically and in regards to quality, ScanDrive® drum motors are completely on par with those leading on the world market, and with just a few minor adjustments, our drum motors can easily be implemented into existing structures.
