UNDINE® BELT CLEANER

Undine® can be used to your advantage in connection with various manufacturing processes: The cleaning of food, cleaning of conveyor belts, or in connection with loss reduction when drying.

Future requirements to the production of e.g. food, drinks, and other products will include increased demands on hygiene and cleanliness, but also call for a reduction of water and energy consumption.

The key to success is the incredible speed with which the miniscule droplets are ejected: 900 kilometres an hour, six times faster than traditional high pressure cleaning. Every drop hammers away the dirt. Every spot on the surface is hit multiple times, and bacteria and dirt are removed. At the same time, each droplet does not have enough power to damage the surface. Products and machines remain intact, even soft vegetables survive unscathed.

The result is much more hygienic cleaning with some very substantial water savings – regardless of whether warm or cold water is used. In addition, labour costs are significantly reduced by automation with Undine®. The system can be adjusted to existing systems or be installed from the beginning.

Undine® can be used to your advantage in connection with various manufacturing processes: The cleaning of food, cleaning of conveyor belts, or in connection with loss reduction when drying.

This is how Undine® works

The unique Undine® nozzle consists of two chambers. In the first chamber, which is conical, water is mixed with compressed air, whereby tiny water droplets are formed. Because of the difference in pressure between the two chambers, the water mist shoots out through the nozzle at a very high speed. The combination of the miniscule droplets, which attack dirt and bacteria like tiny 'pins', and the water mist’s high speed result in an unsurpassed cleaning effect without any hint of damage to machines and belts. In fact, the water mist is so soft that you can hold your hand in front of the nozzle.

This is how much you can save!

Studies from a poultry and a sow abattoir respectively in the Netherlands has shown that the installation of Undine® resulted in the following savings and improvements:

  • Up to 60% savings on wages in connection with cleaning
  • 25% water consumption savings*
  • Weight loss in connection with drying/cooling of meat reduced
    from 1.7% to 0.3%
  • Carcass cool down time reduced by two hours.
  • A reduction in discolouration of meat and bones.
  • Visible and measurable hygiene improvements
    (machines and products)
  • No contamination of the conveyor’s surroundings (does not spray)

Return of Investment = 6 months

The abattoirs found that the investment had paid for itself in less than six months.

*Depending on the application, up to 70% can be saved on water and energy.
